I am most definitely a Summer girl at heart, but Winter is one of my favorite seasons for fashion. Why? It may have something to do with my jacket obsession, (or the thrill I get from buying new boots) but it’s also because I like to layer. I absolutely love the fact that you can layer old pieces in your existing wardrobe to create new outfits. It’s the best way to make old items in your closet feel new again. With that being said, I wanted to share with you my favorite “new” outfit combo – I’ve been loving it so far this winter.
Cozy Sweaters and Winter Plaids
I die for a good cozy sweater, whose with me?! Recently my ‘go to‘ look is to layer an oversize sweater with a cute collard shirt beneath it. This gives my sweater outfit an entirely new look, and keeps me warm on those excruciatingly cold days in January. If collard shirts aren’t your thing, simply find a long sleeve top that has a detailed neckline that can be shown off.
Here are two of my absolute favorite pieces together. Beneath my sweater I’m wearing an incredibly light weight, long sleeve blouse that is perfect for layering. The top comes in the cutest burgundy plaid pattern, and although it’s not a collard shirt, it has a fun lace up detail at the neckline that is visible beneath my sweater. This sweater – oh my goodness, it has been on repeat all winter long! While it’s an oversize, comfy sweater, it’s still fitted in all the right places. I love to wear this look with my favorite over the knee boots, or sometimes I’ll throw on skinnys and a cute pair of ankle booties.
– Sale Alert –
Right now, my Madden Girl over the knee boots are on sale for 15% off at Macy’s! I’m wearing them in black, however they also come in gray, and the prettiest Navy Blue. (The Navy pair is most definitely next on my list) Both my cable knit sweater, and plaid blouse can be purchased online at Hello Addie Boutique. I’m wearing the sweater in Cream, but it also comes in a deep Navy color. In celebration of the New Year, use code NEW17 to take 20% off your purchase at Hello Addie.
